Merry Winter Solstice!

Wishing all a wonderful celebration of the sun rise and sunset pause on the horizon, marking the start of a new solar year and the lighter days as they very slowly emerge. These were some of the Earthwaves celebrations with feasting, including homemade solstice cake, and merriment, wood fire, wassailing the cider trees in the garden, and some game playing. Nothing like a time of cultural remembering with loved ones. friends new and old. Gifts were exchanged. Who would have known that the ancient art of Tarot was practiced by Jane Austin, and that you could play a game where one side is tearing down a Stonehenge whilst another is building it up. Although both modern marketing contrivances, Jane Austin’s being especially funny to serious witchy Tarot card readers, the Stonehenge game does get you thinking about how the monument has both been put up and to some extent taken down and then back up again over the years. The thought occurred perhaps it never was fully finished, like may things in life, or just the ebb and flow in the zeitgeist of monuments and institutions.

Anyhow we had some good fun had by all and a lovely way to start the astrological New Year.
