A rare occasion arose when Lance was able to set up both of his gongs and record this track. It was timely and appropriate, given the Earthwaves Partnership’s decision to focus on the basics of sound as a foundation to build future artworks.
It could be said that gongs embody the very essence of Earthwaves; ancient instruments that create complex and spiritual sounds, created from a combination of earth metals which give the gongs their unique sound. Materials from earth and the soundwaves created by them = earthwaves.
The track was recorded in one session using a 75 Wind gong and 80 Sun gong, using a variety of mallets and floomis. Listen carefully… you will hear these amazing instruments speaking.
