Mike is working on Buddha bowls and three style titles, Primordial, Alchemic and Eden. The latter adds a living element to the ancient theme inspiration and the garden of Eden seemed to resonate with these Earthwaves themes. The Eden design includes leaves, so a visit to the National Aboretum at Westonbirt was brought forward for a research visit.
As Mike was doing the longest drive, Lance created a delicious picnic. However, supposedly dry, we hadn’t bargained on the wind and enjoyed a moving feast, as opposed to just a moveable one with significant gusts of wind and rubbish chasing. Then just to make sure we were really experiencing the outdoors the weather decided to suddenly torrent just as we tucked into an ice cream tea. Both rather damp, as we paid more attention to keeping the water out of the paper cups and the rather too delicious salted caramel ice cream.
We had better luck with the research. Lance, a previous visitor to the forest, found the acer grove his favourite area, and we both wowed at the beauty of branches waving in the wind and sun dappling through the leaves. Oddly both of us floundering at photographing the images; an unusual case of where the phone cameras did not over colour them but actually made the images too dark and lacking natural vibrancy.
Then walking through the huge tree collection, we could not help but tune into the phenomenal energies, along with a bit of tree hugging. At one point there were three pines planted in a triangle and standing in the middle was like walking into some energy machine. If we had found ourselves going through a portal into another dimension, I doubt either of us would have been surprised. Both of us were so intoxicated with the buzz from all these we had to have a lie down in the grass. All in all a tremendous afternoon of research, with some primordial weather, and every intention to go back in the autumn.
