Our Earthwaves work explores landscapes and that has taken us far and wide in both geography, geology and time. The journey has given rise to such powerful experiences, starting with spiritual connections through tantra, which in turn has inspired us to write about two fictional characters, Lan and Deek, against the backdrop of Stonehenge. A neolithic metaphor for our times.
The spiritual, however, is not fictional; our personal experience is full of connections, intuitions, beauty and inspirations and can feel very magical. We have have come to believe in the magic of deeper experience and understanding of the world, from an underlying energy of love and happiness which is open to all. It depends not on money, power, technology, science or who you know, just on your openness and intention and a concern for and interest in green planet issues and all that is the Earth, sky and nature.
So perhaps we should not have been quite so surprised to find that that Lance came across some books on the subject of Green Witch magic in a charity shop and the practice of what can only be described as natural eco magic. Then, shortly after, both Mike and Lance started to find books on Earth and Moon magic, only to discover that’s what we’ve been doing naturally all along. This kind of spiritual magic is also woven throughout our writing of the Lan and Deek story.
The Easter holidays have brought some lovely magical moments. It was fortunate that the full moon fell on the evening of Maundy Thursday, fully visible in the clear skies. Moongazing was clearly in order, and the energy of that wonderful illuminated orb was captured and channelled through crystals. It was a deep and profound experience, inspiring peaceful and ecstatic feelings for the earth and the universe. In those moments all is beautiful. And it was indeed beautiful moments shared.
Earlier, Mike had also experienced a glorious sunrise and channelled energy from it to heal the Earth. Whilst doing so, a deer casually crossed his path and played easily in front of him. The glory of the birds singing and dancing the skies heralding in breath-taking beauty; it seems spirit animals do bring meaningful messages. And with three gloriously sunny days in Bedfordshire this Easter we could turn our energies to the garden and found new inspiration post winter to continue with turning it into a spiritual place, a place for magic.
Then, after Lance had returned to Wales, Mike had low energy, the inevitable comedown after a spiritually nourishing and creatively inspired few days. It was in the evening, during a local walk, that Mike experienced beauty. A sudden shower and a strong wind directed his vision to a complete arc of a double rainbow, illuminated by the golden rays of the early evening sun. Despite the weather, Mike stopped to take in the sheer beauty of this naturally occurring phenomenon, until it faded back into the peaceful evening light.
According to the Earth Magic book, rainbows signify:
Magic tradition: worldwide
Sacred meaning: transition, spiritual connection and new beginnings
This was indeed a message Mike needed to hear after months of personal challenges. Peace and new energy to refocus on being creative again. Just needed a little Earth and Moon magic.
